This series continued an ongoing exploration of portraiture and its potential for transformation.
The works emerged through the layering and combination of different images—images that were repeatedly altered throughout the process, gradually losing their original boundaries and identities. As a result, the faces no longer remain representations of specific individuals, but become fluid and unstable images.
What becomes important in this series is not the identity of the subjects, but the process through which an image comes into being—the moment a face emerges from a network of layers, transforms, and gradually dissolves back into them.
